Sacramento Vegetable Gardening: The Scent of a Lady

Sacramento Vegetable Gardening: The Scent of a Lady

Gawler Show Novelty

Hi everyone,
On my last blog I talked about Ladybird at the Gawler Show. Like most shows you will always find something that really is unique.
I thought you might enjoy this photo. I would like to congratulate the exhibitor on such a humorous. creative and novel display.
Carpet Cleaning Tips. I reccommened you always call a ACCI qualified professional carpet technician, but you may not be able to do that so here is an alternative you might want to try at your own discression.
Remove Pet Stains using vinegar. These stains are extremely damaging to carpet fibre. Cat and dog urine can be expensive problems. There are a few tips you must know when cleaning up these stains to keep from causing permanent damage to your carpet.
Instructions- Blot urine up with absorbent paper towels, press the towel with your heal. This will soak up the urine, do this a number of times with new towels.
After urine has been removed, spray a solution of white vinegare and water(50/50). Leave in the carpet, this neutralizes the acid in the urine that could discolour the carpet.
Never rub or scrub the carpet. (continued next time)

A Family Affair at theGawler Show

Hi again,
My husband spotted this family of tractors at the show. So cute!
The restoration of old farm machinery hold a great fascination to those of us not of that era, and brings back many fond memories to the oldies that saw them every day when they were young, especially if they grew up in the country.
Most of these great machines would not measure up in today's world of OH&S. No thought was given back then to the noise levels, or whether one might lose an arm or even worst their life.
I live at Gawler which is an hours drive from Adelaide and we have just held the annual 'Bay to Birdwood Run'. This is a very popular event where vintage and veturan cars and vehicles are driven from Glenelge to Birdwood in the Adelaide foot hills.

Gawler Show

Hello Bulldog here again.

Like most small towns Gawler holds an annual horitcultural show, and this was the first time Ladybird Carpet Care exibited at it. It was a fun time, preparing for the show, deciding on a theme, buying props and things to make your stall exciting and colourful. We were permitted to set up the day before. On the first day of the show everyone arrived very early to add the finishing touches to their exibit. There was much colour, and laughter, and getting to know the other stall holders. Ladybird was very fortunate because she had Steiny's Traditional Mettwurst & Smallgoods, steinys@ozemail.com.au along side, and OH! the most wounderful smells, as you can imagine. (to be cont.)

Carpet cleaning tip. Using vinegare is one method to Remove Pet Stains. further info. in my next blog.

The big step into blogging.

This first blog is dedicated to my professional friend and mentor Dean Allen at my.bookkeeping.s@bigpond.com Thanks Dean for your encouragement.
Launching into the big world of modern technology can be a very frightening step.
People who are familiar with this technology speak in a strange tongue, with words I am just starting to understand a little.
I keep on reminding myself that from little things, big things grow.
Because this is my first post I should introduce myself,
I'm Lorna of Ladybird Carpet Care, Gawler South Australia, and I commenced my carpet cleaning business this year after completing my training at Australian Carpet Cleaning Institute ACCIinfo@theacci.com.au
If you would like any more information on my carpet cleaning methods etc. my website is www.Ladybirdcarpetcare.com.au
As this is a new venture for me I have had a lot to learn and fortunately for me I discovered Nabec which stands for Northern Area Business Enterprise Centre www.nabec.com.au. This is a Federal Government Funded Organisation established to help small business operators, in all areas of business operations. Experts and advisors, training and support what ever area of need a small business person may have Nabec is there to help.
I am also envolved in our local 'Nabec Women in Business' and we are having a very exciting launch on Oct.14th. at the Gawler Arms Hotel. There will be cocktails, a mini business expo, guest speakers, lucky door prizes and networking opportunities. For more info. contact Virginia at Nabec.
Cheers! Until my next blog. Lorna@Ladybirdcarpetcare.com.au
